On May 29, 2015 Madison Police Detective Kurtis Wallace and Detective Jonathon Simpson observed a motorcycle with no vehicle registration. Officers relayed the information to Ptl. Shawn Scudder who attempted to stop the vehicle at Wilson and Clifty Drive. The motorcycle failed to stop and Ptl. Scudder pursued the vehicle north on Wilson. The motorcycle was able to flee officers. Officers attempted to locate the vehicle, but was unsuccessful. During the investigation Madison Police learned the driver of the motorcycle was Joshua M. Musgrave Age 33 of Greenfield Indiana. During the investigation, Madison Police came into contact with an acquaintance of Joshua’s identified as Jennifer E. Hendrix Age 31. Jennifer was found to be in Possession of Methamphetamine. An arrest warrant was later issued for Jennifer by the Jefferson County Superior Court.
On June 22, 2015, Hanover Police Officer Andrew Sims received information that Joshua and Jennifer were at a location in Hanover Indiana. Officers Sims also received information that Joshua was in possession of methamphetamine. This information was relayed to Detective Kurtis Wallace and Detective Jonathon Simpson. Officers went the residence identified by Sims in attempt to locate Joshua and Jennifer. While in the area, officers observed Joshua and Jennifer exit a residence.
Detective Wallace and Detective Simpson approached Jennifer and Joshua. During approach Jennifer attempted to throw a small purse away from her, which officers later learned to contain methamphetamine and prescription pills. Joshua was ordered to the ground. While going to the ground, a loaded handgun fell from Joshua’s person. Both were then placed into handcuffs. Hanover Police Officer Joshua Taylor and Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies Josh Cochran and K9 Glock and Deputy Brent Bennett arrive to assist. Deputy Cochran conducted an open air search of the vehicle driven by Joshua. During the search, K9 Glock indicated to the presence of narcotics on the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle and suspects officers located a digital scales, plastic bags, glass pipe, four bags of methamphetamine totaling approximately 47 grams, and over $6000 in US Currency. Joshua and Jennifer were placed under arrest and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. The methamphetamine found has an approximate street value of over $5000 dollars.
