Ripley County Sheriff Jeff Cumberworth has given us a look at two new patrol cars his deputies will be driving. Sheriff Cumberworth says the new look will save Ripley County taxpayers thousands of dollars with every new patrol car, and give the department a more modern look.
The sheriff says the traditional two tone brown costs the county more money due to having to special order the tan colored car.
Sheriff Cumberworth says he and his deputies made the decision to go to the new look, which is a sleek and sharp black with white lettering.
The department has two of the new cruisers and will continue to replace the old as they are taken out of commission. The Sheriff says Sgt. Corky Houseworth and Sgt. Abe Hildebrand will be driving the new cars.
