At approximately 8:21 a.m. on April 30, 2015, the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 report of shots being fired at 205 N. Sycamore St. in Osgood. Several area agencies responded along with the Sheriff’s Office. Once the scene was secure, the investigation resulted in the determination that the report of shots being fired appeared to be unfounded. However, through further investigation it was determined that the residence was the scene of a domestic violence act.
Resident 33-year-old Dedric M. Gutzwiller was taken into custody for domestic battery resulting in injury in the presence of a child and transported to the Ripley County Jail where he was incarcerated pending bond of $1,050.00.
Due to the report of shots being fired, Jac-Cen-Del School Corporation was contacted as a safety precaution resulting in the school being temporarily placed on lockdown for the safety of the students.
