Voters in Owen County’s 4th district will have a week to wait to find out who their magistrate will be. Democrat and former magistrate Joel Grugin and Republican Chad Rose each received a total of 545 votes in Tuesday’s general election. Kentucky law states that the election board has to decide how to break the tie…and that decision was made yesterday. Owen County Clerk Laurel Stivers posted on social media that the race will be decided on Thursday November 15th by a simple flip of a coin. The decision will take place in the courtroom at the Owen County Courthouse at 3:30pm on the 15th.
