On Friday March 20, 2015 at about 2:30 PM, Ripley County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of an automotive accident, in which a semi truck had overturned on Michigan Road near the address of 9751 South Michigan Road.
The vehicle crossed the stone bridge traveling south on Michigan Road, colliding with the end of the bridge and overturning onto its side. The driver, identified as Brandon Holland of Scottville, Michigan, was transported to the hospital by Rescue 69 for treatment of his injuries.
Ripley County EMA was contacted in reference to oil a diesel fuel spilling from the truck, and Ripley County Highway Department responded to repair the damage to the bridge. Todd’s wrecker was contacted to remove the truck and the rolls of steel that Mr. Holland was hauling.
Ripley County Deputy Sergeant Corky Houseworth investigated the accident. He was assisted at the scene by New Marion Fire Department, Ripley County Highway Department, Rescue 69, KDH Paramedic, Todd’s Wrecker Service and Ripley County EMA.
