Switzerland County Natural Gas has filed a request with the Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor to increase its rates in 2019.
The company says they want to raise its usage rate as well as a flat monthly rate, as well as a monthly residential service charge for its 680 customers in Switzerland and Jefferson Counties. The pending request would raise SWITZCO’s annual non-gas cost operating revenue by over $83,000.
The impact on your bill would vary based on usage, but the increase on the flat monthly charge would range from $10-13.
SWITZCO’s last rate increase was in 2013. SWITZCO says it is seeking the increase due to higher operating and maintenance costs.
The Indiana office of utility customer counselor is accepting public comments on the proposed rate hike now through Friday October 26th.
