Two Carroll County High School students were taken into custody at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Jan. 25 for making a threatening remark on social media.
Other CCHS students reported the remark to school administrators, who notified law enforcement, including the Carroll County School District’s school resource officer, Tim Gividen.
“We have to take all threats seriously,” said director of pupil personnel Mark Willhoite. “Parents, please have conversations with your children about this. If we see a threatening post or comment, we will take action to ensure the safety of our students.”
The students cooperated with law enforcement and school officials.
