The Switzerland County Sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call on Saturday May 20, 2017. The caller reported two unresponsive male subjects were were not breathing.
A deputy and a Vevay police officer responded to the scene along with Switzerland County Emergency Response. Units discovered two males unresponsive and began administering CPR. Lifesaving efforts continued once medical personnel arrived, but attempts were unsuccessful and the Switzerland County Coroner was notified.
53 year old Larry Tingle and 22 year old Jerry Lewis, both of Vevay were pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the investigation, information was obtained that led to the execution of a search warrant on a residence on State Road 56 near Vevay. This resulted in the arrest of three individuals.
39 year old Buster Harlow of Vevay was arrested and charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor) and Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony).
60 year old George Harlow Jr. of Vevay was arrested and charged with Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (level 6 felony) and Posession of a Narcotic Drug (level 6 felony.)
29 year old Shane Hopkins of Vevay was arrested and charged with Maintaining a common nuisance (level 6 felony), Possession of a Narcotic Drug (level 6 felony) and possession of paraphernalia (class A misdemeanor).
The Sheriff’s Department and Police department were assisted by the Indiana State Police.
