Editorial by Owner and General Manager Adam Griffin:
In the early 2000’s, there were a lot of Griffin’s who walked the halls of Rising Sun High School…but there was another name that there were many of, and that name…Banschbach. And, through our time as Shiners, some of us became friends.
I walked the halls with Kendra, Sam and Tyler and have known Greg and Pam for a long time. And, it’s when stories hit close to home that I take the time to let you all know. This one is no different.
After school, Kendra married Jeff and they had a beautiful little girl they named Addylen. For the first few months, Addy was a happy and healthy baby girl, but then, at six-months old, Addy was diagnosed with a very rare disease called Pompe. Pompe is an inherited disorder caused by the buildup of a complex sugar called glycogen in the body’s cells. The accumulation of glycogen in certain organs and tissues, especially muscles, impairs their ability to function normally. (More about the disease HERE.)
Addy is now 7 years old and is need of some equipment that will not only make her life easier but also her care easier for her parents.
Having lived in Froggy country my whole life, I know how folks around here pull together to help those in need. The equipment Addy needs is not cheap, and unfortunately, not covered by insurance. So I’m asking you this one simple thing…if you’re able, please help the family by donating on their gofundme page that has been set up. In total they need $36,500 and have already raised over $15,000! We here at Froggy radio are giving the Reeder family a monetary donation to help toward this goal and trust you will help as well!
