On March 14, 2017 officers with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office and Rising Sun Police Department came into contact with Dustin Heid on Fifth Street in Rising Sun.
Officers approached Dustin and began speaking with him. Officers observed Heid to have signs of possible impairment. After continuing to speak with Heid, an object that Heid had removed from his pocket was thrown when he believed that officers were not watching him. Heid then removed three (3) syringes from his boot.
The object that was thrown by Heid is believed to contain methamphetamine. Other paraphernalia was located on Heid’s person. Heid was taken in to custody as a result of the find.
Two other individuals with Heid were released from the scene.
Heid is being charged with Possession of Methamphetamine a level 6 Felony, Possession of a Syringe a level 6 Felony, and Possession of Paraphernalia, a class C Misdemeanor.
