On Monday, October 31, 2016 at approximately at approximately 1:05 p.m. a single vehicle collision in the 7,500 block of KY-8 (River Road) claimed the life of the driver and sent the passenger, who was ejected, to University Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio via Air Care.
Austin Jack, 19 of Hebron, Kentucky was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Corvette eastbound on River Road when he lost control of the vehicle going off the right side of the road. He overcorrected causing the car to slide sideways and then go off the left side of the road where it struck a tree causing it to spin and hit yet another. The passenger, Adian Echeveste, 21 of Burlington, Kentucky who was not wearing a seat belt was ejected from the vehicle.
Jack was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky where he was pronounced deceased. Echeveste was transported to U.C.M.C where he is being treated for his injuries.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. They have determined speed to be a contributing factor.
