October 27, 2016, @ approximately 10:21 PM Jefferson County Sheriff Deputy Brian Muldoon observed a white Toyota passenger car west bound on Highway #56, near IKE, driving erratic.
Deputy Muldoon turned on the vehicle, at which time it picked up speed attempting to elude the deputy. Muldoon temporarily lost site of the vehicle on Hanover Hill, however Hanover Police Officer Brad Demaree was at the top of Hanover Hill and observed the fleeing vehicle pull into the parking lot of the Comfort Inn.
Officers were able to take the driver into custody, after he physically resisted, and later identified him as Dakota E. Henderson 23, Seymour, Indiana. The vehicle, in which Henderson was operating, was reported stolen from the downtown area of Madison, shortly after the traffic stop.
Henderson faces numerous alleged preliminary charges which include auto theft, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, and refusal to identify. Henderson is currently incarcerated in the Jefferson County jail where he awaits his initial court appearance.
