A month long investigation netted 3 arrests dealing with methamphetamine. On July 3rd, MPD officers received information pertaining to subjects dealing methamphetamine in the 300 Block of Cragmont Street. During the investigation, officers identified the two of the subjects as 40 year old James E. Walters and 26 year old Josephine E. Miller both of Madison. Detectives made arrangements through a police informant and methamphetamine was purchased through Walters and Miller. On July 27, 2016 Madison Police again made arrangements to purchase methamphetamine through Walters and Miller again. While at the residence, contact was made with a subject identified as 30 year old Todd W. Chapman of Madison. During the investigation, officers determined that Chapman attempted to provide methamphetamine to a police informant. Officers also learned that Chapman and Walters did not plan to provide the methamphetamine after the arranged transaction and stole the money provided to them.
Based on the investigation, Officers made contact with Chapman, Walters, and Miller in the area of Cragmont Street and Main Street. During the investigation of those subjects officers located documented US currency on Chapman and Walters. Officers also located methamphetamine and stolen items on Chapman. All three subjects were placed under arrest.
