On Sunday, February 14, 2016, the Madison Police Department responded to a personal injury accident
in the 2000 block of Clifty Drive. Officers Brian Wyatt, Aaron Watson and Jordan Bowles responded.
When the officers arrived at the scene they found a gray, 2012 GMC pick-up truck on its side against a
tree in the yard of a residence in the 2000 block of Clifty Drive. The officer spoke with a juvenile
passenger in the vehicle who was still in his safety restraint and complaining of pain. He was
transported to KDH by EMS for treatment of his injuries.
The driver of the truck was identified as Larry W. Hedgepeth, Sr., (66), of Madison. He was deceased
prior to officers arriving.
Officers spoke with two witnesses, Tony Jester, age 40, of Madison and Sophia Jasem, age 25, of Paoli,
Indiana. Both witnesses advised officers that the gray pick up was traveling east bound on Clifty Drive
and failed to navigate the left turn in the 2000 block of Clifty Drive and exited the roadway on the right
side. The vehicle jumped the curb, went airborne, rolled and struck the tree.
Officers do not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
