No one was hurt in an early morning crash on Saturday (4/9) in Ohio County.
Ohio County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the accident around 5am on Saturday on Thuermer Hollow Road. Upon their arrival they found a car had struck a utility polce which was resting on top of a vehicle.
The pole was emitting sparks of electricity at that time. The power was shut off for the pole to be removed.
No one was injured in the accident.
The sheriff’s office reminds drivers, should you be involved in an accident involving utility poles and power lines; remain in your vehicle until help arrives, warn others not to touch the vehicle, if the vehicle is on fire and you must exit – open the door and window and jump clear without touching the vehicle and the ground at the same time, and always be careful not to fall back against the vehicle and avoid any wires on the ground.
