On Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at approximately 1:34 PM The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department was requested by the Kentucky State Police to assist them in locating a suspect in an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at that Milton Discount Tobacco shop.
KSP advised that they were in the process of obtaining a warrant for 50 year old Fayetta Weston of Madison, Indiana for 1st Degree Robbery. Sgt. Troy Hawkins first located a vehicle driven by 50 year old Fayetta Weston traveling on SR 62 towards Hanover. Det. Yancy Denning, Special Deputy Tim Armstrong, and Chief Deputy Dave Thomas then began following the vehicle for several hours until it traveled to her residence.
After watching the residence for approximately one hour KSP advised that they had secured the arrest warrant for Fayetta Weston. Detective Yancy Denning and Special Deputy Tim Armstrong then made contact with Fayetta Weston at her residence and placed her under arrest without incident. At the request of KSP, Detective Denning and Special Deputy Tim Armstrong interviewed Fayetta Weston about the incident.
Fayetta Weston admitted to the armed robbery and gave consent to search her vehicle and residence. Detective Denning and Special Deputy Tim Armstrong recovered the weapon and $650.00 of unspent money from robbery.
Fayetta Weston was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where she awaits extradition to Kentucky to face charges of 1st Degree Robbery.
