At approximately 6:45pm, on Monday, March 30, 2015, a teacher at Madison Consolidated
Junior High received a private Facebook message from a 13 year old student. The message
said, “The school is gonna blow at.”
The teacher contacted the Madison Police Department. Contact was made with Dr.
Studebaker-Bolinger and MJHS principal, Jill Mires. The teacher continued to exchange
messages with the juvenile and additional threats of blowing up the school were
Lieutenant Slygh made contact the juvenile at his grandmother’s residence. The juvenile
admitted to communicating the threats, but stated there was no device.
Chief Thurston, Major Perkins, Detective Lieutenant Eblen, Detective Lieutenant Simpson,
Sergeant Jackson, Detective Senior Patrolman Wallace, Patrolman Scudder and Patrolman
Wyatt conducted a sweep of the school and no devices were located.
MPD also was present at school this morning as a safety measure. The juvenile was placed on
house arrest and charged with intimidation.
